Thanks for posting the info Django. Has anyone the time to translate the
documentation, and has anyone tried this circuit out ? Tips on antenna/rx etc.
much appreciated. I hear good things about Hamcom regularly, and would be
interested to try it out for wxsat if I can get hold of a suitable rx.

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me the format of the command sent to an FBB BBS
as an Unproto frame to request an Unproto list of bulletins and messages
from the BBS. The basic format seems to be:-
? XXXXXXXXCC
Where XXXXXXX is the starting number of the messages to list in hex.
CC is a 2 digit checksum.
In particular I would like to know how the 2 digit check sum is calculated
from the message number.
Thanks in advance .....

You can get a Data Engine version. Not sure what other 80x86-compatible
TNCs there are out there.
Another approach is to use a cut-down PC with no disk drives and put in
a rom-boot board which can then load Dos and BPQ.

Don't have any info on the FAQ, but you can get THE LIST by ftp from
ucsd.edu. Last I got (7/1/94) was 600k. Sorry, I don't remember the file
name, but it is pretty blatent when you see it.

My 101ZD has 30 meters. Is yours an older version?

One note, though is that semi-automatic stations are NOT permitted to
beacon, or in any way initiate a communication. They must also be 500Hz
wide at most.
There is certainly plenty of opportunity for QRM, but the feeling was that
these restrictions would limit such.

A lot of folks were in favor of this method of operation. Since those
folks were vocal, they got listened to.
